Touring around Colorado last season Josh got to see almost every range in the state, while completing his goal to climb and ride every 14er in a single season. He got to see the vast differences in culture each mountain town had to offer. He got to see the terrain that makes each range unique, and realized that these are the things he wanted to tell people about. The lines on each peak became the aesthetic backdrop to the story, not the premise. Once he figured this out, he decided he was going to flip the script on how he spent his season. He was going to chase the laughs, the ski culture, and the lonely pockets of Colorado instead of the lines. Exploring a little further into our own backyard, Josh decided to chase his Journey Lines.
These Journey Lines are a multi-year project based around exploring further into every nook and cranny of Colorado's mountains. They will showcase the thing that make our state special. Ranging from taking the Ski Train from Denver, to recreating the 10th Mountain Division's Trooper Traverse from Leadville to Aspen. Josh is seeking out the most beautiful mountain faces, 5000' descents, and interactions with the locals. Chasing the Journey is what the next few seasons have become for him, because as we all know, that's «the reward.»
