About the Lecture

Lilli Carré’s lecture, titled «Ghost in a Loop,» will center on the trajectory of her animated work and aspects of her practice that explore the interplay between the physical and virtual self. During her talk, she will also discuss how the history and structure of animation influence her thinking. Often employing the form of a loop, both narratively and structurally, her films complicate the linearity of time and the freedom of an animated body. In addition to animation, her interdisciplinary practice includes comics, ceramic sculpture, games, and drawing. She will discuss her need to cycle through different forms, as well as how these varied methods can both influence and haunt each other.
