Altars! Skulls! Art exhibits! Tons of great music and dancing!
Celebrate the Mexican holiday «Day of the Dead» at the Dairy! This event is a collaboration with El Centro Amistad and the Dairy's Music and Visual Arts department resulting in a festive evening of original artwork, altars, food and great performances.
The evening includes live performances in the lobby, access to the art exhibits and community altars, a musical celebration featuring Latin American music performed by the Victor Mestas Pérez Trio, Las Dahlias, Altius Quartet,and Cenzontli Children's Ensemble, and participation in voting for the “People’s Choice” favorite altar and Catrinas costume contest! Bring your families, friends and neighbors to experience this holiday event for all ages!
Schedule of Events:
5:00pm — Festivities begin in the lobby — free food, face painting, altar viewing and contributions, visual art exhibiting tours, Folklorico & Aztec dance ceremony
6:30pm — Music concert in the Gordon Gamm Theater
7:30pm — Catrinas contest in the lobby
