Bandcamp Tech Talk @ Platt Green Room, Denver [24 February]

Bandcamp Tech Talk

18:00 - 19:00

 Facebook event page
Platt Green Room
Join Bandcamp lead internationalization engineer Anna Russo Kennedy for a talk about the technical and cultural challenges behind making Bandcamp accessible in languages other than English. The engineering to make that possible is complex and fascinating, involving string tagging, extraction, and bundling, character widths, and cultural differences.

Food from Ashirwad the Blessings will be served, and free, beautiful limited edition vinyl of bandcamp musician of the year KING will be raffled off.

Bandcamp is the place for fans to discover amazing music and directly support the artists who make it. Artists on the site have earned over $200 million, and over $6 million in the past month. It is easy for artists and labels to get their music on Bandcamp, but the engineering to get there is complex and fascinating.

Chat about having a career in tech, working at a distributed company, programming a large modern website, and anything else you'd like to know about Bandcamp.
